My Ideal Destination: Generally speaking, I love visiting places where I can get a feel for what it would actually be like to live there. Specifically, I love learning about a place's culture and history while also getting the opportunity to interact with local residents. A dream travel day for me would probably consist of doing something active or outdoorsy, visiting a national landmark or museum, eating a great native meal, listening to or experiencing some kind of local art or music, enjoying the area's nightlife, and waking up the next day and doing it all over again. In general, I find that I'm not drawn to places that are designed purely for entertainment purposes (ie. theme parks, Las Vegas, etc). Although, I think those places have a ton of value in and of themselves, when I travel I like to take on a more active role to my entertainment. Of course, I aim to have fun and enjoy whatever I'm doing, but I prefer experiences where there is some kind of learning, depth, and reflection involved... in addition to being exponentially fun and memorable. Some areas of the world that I'm particularly interested in are Germany, Brazil, Australia, India, and Japan.
