My Ideal Destination: I think most people would answer this question by describing a certain type of culture they enjoy, a climate they are attracted to, or geographic determinants they wish to be close to. I cannot answer this question in that manner. To be honest, my ideal travel destination is anywhere but here. I love this city (Dallas) but I find if you constrain yourself to an "ideal travel destination" you will never get out and experience things which are foreign to you. I love the beach, but I also love the mountains. I love going to places where they speak English, but I also enjoy the intricacies of trying to communicate with someone who shares no common language. I love the thrill of being in a huge city, surrounded by people, cars and buildings, but I also love being in the countryside with nothing but myself and the possessions with which I am traveling. I love the thrill of an extreme sport or a crazy adventure, but I am also content sitting in a coffee shop just watching people as they go about their own daily lives. I love going to museums, but I also know that in order to find real culture, sometimes you just have to be one with the people. I enjoy dining out in fancy restaurants, but I also love tasting the scrumptious, and sometimes not-so-scrumptious street food.
I believe my desire for adventure, new experiences, and the unknown make my ideal travel destination very vague; however, through vagueness and openness I leave myself more predestined to experience the world as I could never have thought possible.
